We do a special Reading Club for students who need extra support to learn to read. S.P.I.R.E.® is a research-proven reading intervention program designed for students needing extra support in reading. It is designed to build reading success through an intensive, structured, and spiraling curriculum that incorporates phonological awareness, phonics, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in a systematic 10-Step lesson plan. Thanks to our Literacy Aides, Melissa Sedrick, Suzanne Rhodes, Jen Veazie, Debbie Taylor, Carrie Roy, & Laurel Killian, this program is going well. We are also using it in our special education program with Sheila Mason.
